No need to reach for a can of corn kernels - here's how to cut corn fresh from the cob.

Step 1:

Place the corncob on a clean work surface. Use your hands to remove and discard the green outer husk and silky threads.

Step 2:

Trim one end so the corncob stands flat. Starting halfway, cut down the corncob, close to the core, to remove the kernels.

Step 3:

Trim the other end of the corncob so it stands flat. Repeat to remove the kernels from the other half of the corncob.
